
Ingredients:
- 1 head of broccoli, chopped
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb pasta (penne or spaghetti)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Steam the broccoli until tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a food processor, combine the broccoli, basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan. Pulse until smooth.
- With the food processor running, slowly add olive oil until the pesto reaches a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Toss the pasta with the pesto sauce until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.
